What is a Costal Rhinoplasty?
The costal cartilage is located at the end of the ribs and is harder than the ear or septal cartilage. Using this characteristic, Liting uses the rib cartilage at the tip of the nose instead of a prosthetic implant to create a high, sharp and long enough nose.

Costal Rhinoplasty Procedure
STEP 01
Determine the desired height and length of the nose and the amount of excess skin on the nose.
STEP 02
The 10th rib is harvested under sedation and sutured with Dermabond.
STEP 03
The tip of the nose is elevated and lengthened as needed within the limits of the skin.
STEP 04
Nose bridge implants are placed to complete the natural nose line.

Precautions after surgery
Postoperative care for yourself after Costal Rhinoplasty
- Avoid drinking, smoking and get plenty of rest for 2 weeks after the surgery.
- Apply ointment to the stitches from time to time to make sure they heal well without inflammation.
- You should avoid blowing your nose, digging or picking as much as possible.
- Swelling and bruising may occur up to 1 week after surgery.
